Lauren Brincat

Lauren Brincat is an artist who works across diverse media from video and performance to sculpture and installation. Influenced by her formal training in painting, the artist has noted that she considers herself to be ‘a painter despite not using a brush or paint’. The artist’s video works take the form of documented and often repetitive actions performed by the artist—riding, walking, eating, talking, rowing.

Walk The Line is a continuum of Brincat’s walking series, where the artist is documented in various settings undertaking a walk to the horizon. In Walk The Line Brincat films the action of walking into the invisible border where the Indian Ocean meets the Southern Ocean, at Cape Leeuwin (‘Lioness’).
